A free migration moves your files. That is the easy 60% of a website migration service. The other 40% is the part that takes a site down: the DNS cutover, keeping email flowing while the domain moves, re-issuing SSL, and mapping redirects so your rankings survive. We package the whole move at a fixed $450 instead of a vague hourly quote.
Host importers from Hostinger, GoDaddy, or DreamHost are built to pull you onto one platform, so they stop at the files. We move between any two hosts, and because we run servers ourselves, we plan the cutover so there is no window where customers hit a dead site.
Services we combine
Who it's for
This fits a business leaving shared hosting for something that holds up under traffic, someone who inherited a site with no documentation, or anyone who tried a free importer and watched it break the email or the checkout. If your move is a single static page, you do not need this. If it has a database, real traffic, and an inbox attached to the domain, you do.
-
Leaving cheap shared hosting
Your site outgrew a $5 plan and you want it on a server that does not fall over mid-campaign.
-
Inheriting a site you did not build
New to the project, no documentation, and the old host is a mystery. We map it before we move it.
-
Burned by a free migration before
A host importer moved the files and broke the email, the redirects, or the checkout. We move the whole thing.
How it runs
We copy the site to the new host and stand it up on a temporary address first, so we can compare it against the live one before touching DNS. Once it matches, we lower the TTL, point the domain, re-issue SSL, and confirm email is still flowing. Then we run a security pass before handing it back.
Audit and copy
We map the current setup and copy files plus database to the new host, checking nothing dropped in transit.
Days 1-2Stage and compare
The site runs on a temporary URL while we compare it page by page against the live one.
Day 3Cutover
TTL lowered, domain pointed, SSL re-issued, email confirmed. The switch itself takes minutes.
Day 4Secure and hand over
A post-move security pass and a short handover so you know what changed.
Day 5Price, and what happens after
The Migration Pack is fixed at $450 for a standard site (one database, a normal plugin set, one domain). Large stores, multisite, or custom server stacks get a quote after a quick look. There is no subscription. You pay once and the site is yours on the new host.
Tooling we lean on
Where this fits
The move itself draws on our hosting account recovery and migration and server setup work. Keeping mail alive through the cutover is part of our email and deliverability service. The security pass at the end is a short version of our WordPress security audit. If the new home is a Cloudflare-fronted setup, that pairs with Cloudflare setup and our Zero Trust bundle. The whole thing sits under our restoration service. Landing on a fresh panel as part of the move? We can set up a new CyberPanel server for you to land on. Replatforming an OpenCart shop during the move? Pair it with our OpenCart Modernize bundle. Nervous about rankings through the cutover? Our write-up on migrating without losing SEO covers the redirect layer, the DNS timing and the 30-day rule for the old server.
