Most WordPress maintenance pages tell you a plan exists and hide what’s in it behind “starts at.” The listicles rank ten agencies without showing what any of them actually do each month. So here’s ours in the open: the full checklist, the price, and the line between what’s covered and what we bill separately.

A care plan is two things. It’s the boring routine that keeps a site from breaking, updates, backups, monitoring, and it’s a person who picks up when something does break or you want a change made. Plenty of services automate the first part and skip the second. When a plugin update white-screens your site at 2am, automation doesn’t roll it back. We do.

We keep plans month-to-month because a maintenance service should earn the renewal, not trap it in an annual contract.

What a care plan should actually do

Three jobs, done properly

Keep it current

Core, theme, and plugin updates run on a staging copy first, then go live once we've checked the front end and checkout still work. If an update breaks something, we roll it back before you ever see it.

Keep it safe

Daily off-site backups you can actually restore from, uptime and malware monitoring, and the security patches that matter applied fast. If the site goes down, we know before you do.

Keep a human on it

A set amount of hands-on time each month for the small jobs: a content change, a broken form, a plugin conflict. Same person every time, who learns your site instead of reading a ticket cold.

The automated part is table stakes; every service does updates and backups. The human on call is the part that's worth paying for, and the part most plans quietly leave out.

What's in the plan

The actual monthly checklist

This is what runs every month on a standard care plan, not a marketing summary of it. Heavier work like a redesign or a migration is billed separately, and we say so before we start.

WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates, run on staging and verified before going live
Daily off-site backups with a tested restore, kept for 30 days
Uptime monitoring with an alert to us, not just to you, when the site goes down
Malware and file-change scanning, with cleanup if something gets through
Broken-link and form checks on the pages that drive enquiries
Database cleanup: revisions, transients, and orphaned data trimmed quarterly
Performance check: page speed and core web vitals reviewed, low-hanging fixes applied
A monthly summary of what we did and anything you should know
Up to 60 minutes of hands-on changes a month on the base plan, more on higher tiers
A real person to email when something breaks, with a same-week response
What you get

Visibility, not just a quiet site

You shouldn't have to wonder whether anyone's actually doing the work. Every month you get proof, and you keep your own backups.

01

Monthly report

What was updated, what was backed up, what we fixed, and how the site performed. Short and in plain English.

02

Your own backups

Off-site backups you can download yourself. If you ever leave, you walk away with a working copy of your site.

03

A direct line

Email a named person, not a shared inbox. Urgent breakage gets same-day attention; everything else, same week.

04

A standing staging site

A staging copy kept in sync, so changes and updates get tested somewhere other than your live site.

How it runs

Onboarding once, then a quiet rhythm

Setup takes a few days. After that the plan runs on a monthly cycle and you mostly forget it's there, which is the point.

1

Onboarding audit

We review the site, set up staging and off-site backups, and fix anything already broken before the routine starts.

Week 1
2

Baseline and harden

Updates brought current on staging, a security pass, and a performance snapshot we'll measure against later.

Week 1
3

Monthly cycle

Tested updates, backups, monitoring, scans, and your hands-on time, wrapped up in a report at month end.

Ongoing
4

Requests as they come

Email when you need a change or something breaks. We pick it up the same week, same day if it's down.

Pricing

Flat monthly price, no contract

Care starts at $140/mo for a standard WordPress site: the full checklist above plus an hour of hands-on time. Care+ is $290/mo and roughly triples the hands-on time, adds priority response, and suits WooCommerce stores and busier sites.

Both are month-to-month. No setup fee beyond the first month’s onboarding, and no annual lock-in. If it’s not earning its keep, cancel.

Already hacked or badly out of date? Start there first.

A care plan keeps a healthy site healthy; it isn’t an emergency service. If your site is already infected, our WordPress malware removal cleans it first. If it’s years behind on updates, we’ll do a one-time catch-up before the monthly plan begins, quoted up front.

Where this fits

How this connects to the rest of the stack

A care plan is the ongoing end of our website maintenance services. It pairs naturally with a one-time WordPress security audit and hardening at the start, so the routine is protecting a site that’s actually locked down. If something’s already wrong, WordPress malware removal handles the cleanup before the plan takes over. And if you want to add a chatbot or automate a workflow on the site, that’s AI for WordPress. New here? The WordPress support overview lays out everything we do for WordPress in one place.

Prefer a fixed monthly plan? Most WordPress sites take our Pro maintenance retainer, while smaller, quieter sites do fine on the cheaper Starter plan.

Run a store on OpenCart as well? We offer the same flat-fee care as OpenCart support and maintenance. Hosted somewhere we have not named? host-agnostic hosting support works above any provider.
